Nope, I’m not talking about your inner core, that’s for a different topic. I’m talking about something even deeper than that and isn’t as quantifiable as 6 muscles bulging out of your abdomen.
I’m talking about your motivation.
What moves you to move and be active? What moves you to get out of bed in the morning and continue to be productive in your day? Finally, what moves you to exercise? I get that question a lot, and I always go back to them:
They are the real reasons why I exercise and try to stay as healthy as I can. It’s not only because I want to look good, although that’s an awesome side effect. It’s mainly because I want to stay fit and healthy for my family. I want to be able to provide for them and I know I won’t be able to do that if I don’t stay fit and healthy. Especially since I am in the fitness industry, an industry that, let’s face it, gives a lot more importance to appearance than what truly matters: functionality.
That is what moves me. It might be something else for you, and don’t be surprised if it evolves with time. Find something that you can relate to and really inspires you to move, chances are, it will also inspire you to exercise. Why? Because PROPER exercise will improve your health thereby increasing your productivity.
So this Monday, try to find that deeper thing that moves you to exercise. Keep it in mind, and think about what would happen if you didn’t exercise. In my case, if I stopped exercise, my health will suffer and I won’t be able to provide for my family. Think about the consequences and then think about the benefits.
